Save time in System Preferences

2017-04-10

One of my favorite tips as it’s hiding in plain sight, yet few people ever find it. I’ve seen this more times than I can count:

  • Someone opens System Preferences
  • They are looking for a specific pref pane
  • They shift their cursor back and forth, up and down, trying to find it
  • Then they starting looking at the named sections to see what category it might be in
  • After strafing the pref panes for awhile, they finally find it

So, try this instead

I’ve also seen this more times than I can count:

  • Someone comes in my office
  • I open System Preferences
  • I go to the pref pane I want quickly because it’s in alphabetical order
  • Person says OH MY GOSH THERE’S A PREFERENCE FOR THAT?
